STICKY:- Matt West officially apologises to all denizens of the omniverse for the rubbish appearance of this website; however, all are assured that this website contains a load of useful info and links (in this universe, at least)
Omnifray Lite RPG
The Omnifray Lite RPG is Matt West's latest RPG project. A suspensist tabletop fantasy roleplaying game, Omnifray Lite is a settingless system adapted to quasi-medieval game-worlds where magic exists hidden from mortal eyes. It is fully compatible with the Enshrouded Lands setting of the full fat Omnifray RPG and the full fat Omnifray RPG books can be used as source material for Omnifray Lite.
Omnifray Lite is not a so-called "simulationist" game, nor is it a "gamist" game, nor is it a so-called "narrativist" game. It is explicitly a suspensist game - a game where fostering an atmosphere of intrigue, mystery and suspense among the players at the table (and the ref) is the best-supported playstyle.

free to download, or available to purchase in softback for £9.95 plus postage and packing
Follow this link for the hosted Omnifray forum on the UK Roleplayers site. It is intended to post variant rules for playtest on that forum.
There's a capsule review of the playtest edition of Omnifray Lite which last time I checked was on this thread at RPG.net, here - thanks SrGrvsalot!
Mechanics of Omnifray Lite
Omnifray Lite uses a d12+stat v. d12+stat core mechanic which has two main variants:- the single roll mechanic and the double roll mechanic.
Both random and points-buy character generation are supported. Random CharGen gives you a character of a fixed points value, so no-one is unfairly disadvantaged by the throw of a dice during CharGen.
How can I get hold of Omnifray Lite?
The rules currently exist only in public playtest format. The Omnifray Lite Core Guide is available as a freely downloadable pdf and for purchase as a conventional dead tree product, both via Lulu, following its public playtest launch at Indiecon 2009. You may also be able to source your copy from the lovely people at Leisure Games.
The Core Guide gives you the complete essence of the roleplaying game and is all you need to play in around 200 pages. A second volume of rules, the Booster Book, is expected to take Omnifray Lite to a new level in 2010. It will remain optional.
